It is a public school with 580 students and 84 employees, including 55 teachers, located in a small village near Toruń. After the last reform of education, the school was transformed from the merger of middle school with high school into a combination of kindergarten, primary school and high school. These changes are a challenge for the school, which works to maintain high quality of teaching in the new situation. The implementation of the core curriculum requires teachers to
constantly develop and search for new solutions in teaching. The school cares for constant development, implementation of solutions developing students' key competences such as social and civic skills as well as the ability to communicate in a foreign language, scientific and technical competences, cultural awareness, expression and learning ability. That is why it is involved in various activities, both regional, national and international, which have a positive impact on the quality of its
functioning. The middle school school functioning at this school before the education reform for many years could be proud of the results of external exams and a large number of laureates of subject competitions. The school wants to ensure that high quality teaching becomes a hallmark for primary school as well. The high school, which is part of the school complex, also requires continuous efforts to motivate students to learn and improve the results of external exams. An interesting educational offer is also a factor that determines the popularity of our high school and creates the opportunity to compete with schools from nearby Toruń. School students are mainly focused on acquiring theoretical knowledge and complain about the lack of practical activities, they are often tired of the excess of theoretical material, perceived by them as difficult, boring (this applies mainly to scientific subjects) and not useful. Therefore, participation in the project that will give them the opportunity to use theoretical knowledge in an interesting way is very much needed.
